It's human nature to be selfish.
There aren't many people I like either. But life is a fragile thing that can be snatched away and destroyed with a single touch of my fingers, and it ends at some point. It has value because it doesn't last forever.
I only bother to keep living for certain people and because I have obligations. Otherwise I wouldn't care enough to keep slogging through the hell that has been almost my entire life.

So? I haven't been in contact with anyone blood-related since I was maybe five. It'd just really disturb me to sleep with someone I considered family or who acted toward me that way, be it parent or child.

Why haven't you seen any relatives for so long?

They stopped giving a shit about me. It's not uncommon for parents to abandon their kids in Academy City shortly after their enrollment fees. I guess developing monstrous powers like mine was just too fucking much for them.
